Are you a solicitor with at least a year of experience, ready to build your career in commercial law? Watson Law is looking for a capable, motivated commercial solicitor to join our Camden team, working on both transactional and dispute matters.
You will have real responsibility for your own files as well as work directly with senior lawyers who are invested in your development.
About the role
You will handle a varied mix of commercial advisory and litigation work for business clients, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including supply, services, distribution, confidentiality and shareholder agreements
- Advising clients on contractual rights, obligations and risk
- Running commercial disputes from first letter through to resolution, including mediation and proceedings in NSW courts
- Debt recovery and enforcement
- Preparing correspondence, court documents,
affidavits and briefs to counsel
- Managing client relationships and keeping clients informed of progress
About the candidate
- Admitted as a lawyer in NSW and holding (or eligible for) a practising certificate
- At least 1 year of post-admission experience (PAE), ideally in commercial or litigation matters
- Strong drafting skills and close attention to detail
- Able to manage a busy file load and meet deadlines
- Clear, professional communication with clients, colleagues and the other side
- A practical, commercial approach to solving problems
