DIESEL FITTERS | MOBILE PLANT MECHANICS | ELECTRICIANS | FITTER TURNERS

If you love machines, thrive on complex diagnostics, and get a real buzz from seeing your ideas and fixes deliver results — we want to hear from you.

About the Opportunity

Legion Drilling is Australia's premier specialist contractor for environmental, geotechnical and sonic drilling services. Our high-spec fleet supports critical site investigations, contamination assessments and remediation projects that underpin major infrastructure, mining and environmental outcomes across the country.

We're expanding our maintenance and field service teams in Brisbane (Pinkenba) and are seeking passionate tradespeople who are excited by variety, autonomy and meaningful impact.

This is not repetitive workshop work or endless FIFO. It's hands-on, varied and rewarding - where your problem-solving directly keeps specialist equipment performing at its best and projects progressing.

What the Role Involves

You'll work on a diverse fleet including sonic drilling rigs, geotechnical rigs, Geoprobe systems, compressors, pumps, heavy vehicles and mobile plant. Your work will include:

Complex diagnostics and repairs across diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical controls and mechanical components

Scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and performance optimisation

Breakdown response and field support at drill sites nationwide

Rebuilds, refurbishments and occasional custom fabrication to solve real field challenges

Collaborating with drill crews to understand issues and deliver lasting solutions

Roster & Travel

7 days a month on an on-call roster for after-hours and weekend support, plus frequent travel to drill sites around the country for scheduled servicing and breakdown support.

This rostered approach gives you predictable time at your home base while offering the variety of national projects - without full-time FIFO.

Who We're Looking For

We're targeting tradespeople who chose this career because they genuinely love the work - the puzzle of diagnostics, the satisfaction of quality craftsmanship, and the pride of seeing equipment perform better because of their expertise.

You are likely someone who:

Has a genuine passion for understanding and mastering machines

Thrives on variety, complex problem-solving and coming up with practical solutions

Gets excited about seeing the tangible outcomes of your ideas and work

Takes pride in high-quality workmanship and continuous improvement

Enjoys small, team-oriented teams where your voice and ideas are heard and acted on quickly

Is motivated by the real-world impact of your work on environmental protection, infrastructure and accurate site data

If you’re in this trade because you genuinely love the work — not just the pay cheque — and you get a real buzz from diagnosing tricky problems, bringing your own ideas to the table, and seeing those ideas come to life in the field, then we want to hear from you.

At Legion Drilling you’ll join a small, collaborative team where your voice is heard and your suggestions are acted on quickly. If you take pride in quality workmanship and want to work on meaningful projects that actually make a difference, we’d love to talk.
