D&T; Hydraulics & Engineering is a locally owned family business that has been operating successfully in Mackay for over 45 years. We are a highly respected company specialising in the manufacture and repair of hydraulic cylinders and components across a range of industries.

Our modern workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and technology, providing an outstanding learning setting for aspiring tradespeople. This is an exciting opportunity to gain on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced tradespersons while completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner).

You’ll rotate through various departments throughout your apprenticeship, gaining exposure to all aspects of our operations and developing a broad range of skills that will set you up for a successful career.

What We Offer

First year apprentice hourly rate of $23.69 per hour plus penalties

Structured on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced tradespersons

Relevant additional training opportunities, including forklift licensing

Plenty of overtime available

Town-based position - home every night

Long-term career opportunities upon successful completion of your trade

The successful applicants will have the following as minimum:

Completed Year 10

Strong results in mathematics, sound results in manual arts & technical drawing

Shows interest/proven capability in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for future career progression post trade completion

Sound results in all other subjects

Shortlisted applicants will undergo an aptitude test as part of the recruiting process. Please include any previous employment history, referees and school results from year 10 onwards.
