Where you'll be working
Join the Gynaecological Oncology service at Westmead, where compassionate, patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do.
We understand that a cancer diagnosis reaches far beyond the physical. It can bring uncertainty, fear and profound change for patients and the people who love them. Our Gynaecological Oncology service is committed to caring for the whole person, recognising the importance of emotional wellbeing, connection and feeling supported through every stage of the cancer journey.
You’ll join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team that values compassion, collaboration and the difference that thoughtful, person-centred care can make during some of life’s most challenging moments.
- Work within a specialised gynaecological oncology service supporting patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with oncology, palliative care and psychosocial professionals to provide coordinated, holistic care.
- Support patients and their loved ones as they navigate diagnosis, treatment, adjustment and survivorship.
- Contribute to a caring team culture where every person's experience, dignity and individual needs matter.
- Help strengthen clinical practice and improve the experience of care through education, research and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Psychologist in this rewarding role, you’ll offer more than psychological assessment and intervention — you’ll create space for people to express their fears,
make sense of uncertainty and find ways to cope with the changes cancer can bring.
Through compassionate, evidence-based care, you’ll help patients and families feel heard, supported and better equipped to navigate their individual journeys.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you’ll bring your clinical expertise, empathy and thoughtful approach to supporting emotional wellbeing, strengthening resilience and improving quality of life.
Your day to day will require:
- Providing comprehensive psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of people with gynaecological cancer.
- Supporting patients, families and carers through the emotional challenges of diagnosis, treatment, adjustment and survivorship.
- Working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, person-centred care and provide specialist psychological consultation.
- Contributing to clinical research, quality improvement and service evaluation that help enhance patient experiences and outcomes.
- Sharing your knowledge through clinical supervision, education and training, helping other health professionals deliver compassionate, high-quality care.
Make a difference that matters
Sometimes, the greatest difference comes from helping someone feel less alone in an uncertain time. If you’re a Clinical Psychologist who brings warmth, empathy and clinical excellence to your work, we invite you to join NSW Health and make a meaningful difference to patients and families when it matters most.
