Bakers Family Medical Centre – Toowoomba QLD

We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our dedicated team at the Bakers Family Medical Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland. As a permanent part time Practice Nurse, (30 hours per week over 4 days) you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the smooth running of our busy medical practice.

Key Responsibilities - Practice Nurse

- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including vaccinations, wound management and the coordination of health screenings.
- Support the ongoing care and management of patients with chronic health conditions.
- Conduct health assessments in accordance with practice guidelines and eligibility requirements.
- Assist doctors with iron infusions and provide appropriate patient monitoring.
- Assess and manage acute and chronic wounds, ensuring appropriate treatment and follow-up.
- Perform Implanon insertions and removals, where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Assist doctors with examinations, clinical procedures and minor surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate, thorough and up-to-date patient records, including consultation notes, treatments and follow-up care.
- Monitor, order and maintain medical supplies and equipment to support the smooth running of clinical services.
- Educate patients about their health, treatment options and preventative healthcare to support positive health outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, administration staff and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, patient-centred care.
- Actively contribute to the practice's accreditation requirements and continuous quality improvement activities, helping maintain high standards of patient care, safety and compliance.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a friendly,



caring and motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and is passionate about providing quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have:

- A Registered Nurse (Division 1) qualification with current AHPRA registration.
- Experience in general practice or a similar clinical setting is desirable, but not essential, as we welcome nurses who are keen to learn and develop their skills.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing procedures and treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, doctors and colleagues.
- Confidence using medical software and technology, or a willingness to learn.
- A genuine commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care and promoting positive health outcomes
