people2people are partnering with a well-established global logistics and freight forwarding organisation to recruit a Licensed Customs Broker for their Melbourne operation.

As a result of increasing volume and future growth plans, they are looking to expand their customs team with the addition of another broker.

The Chance
Working within a supportive customs team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end customs clearance process, ensuring all import and export declarations are completed accurately and in accordance with Australian customs regulations.
- Preparing and lodging import and export declarations
- Tariff classification and customs compliance
- Managing customs holds, inspections and quarantine requirements
- Reviewing shipping and customs documentation
- Liaising with freight forwarders, transport providers and regulatory authorities
- Providing advice and guidance on customs requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance standards are met
- Supporting continuous improvement within the customs function
You'll be joining a team that already has compiler and offshore support in place, allowing brokers to focus on value-added customs activities rather than excessive administrative tasks.

About You
To be successful, you will have:
- A current Australian Customs Broker Licence
- Experience within customs brokerage, customs clearance or freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance and tariff classifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with CargoWise is highly regarded but not essential.
