Wild Kingdom Pet Nutrition (WKPN) is growing, and we're looking for practical, reliable and mechanically minded Machine Operators to join our production team.

We're interested in people with experience operating manufacturing or packaging machinery, preparing batches and ingredient mixes, or working in food production, pet food, animal feed or similar processing environments.

Whether your strengths are extrusion and batch processing or packaging machinery and production operations, we're keen to hear from people who take pride in their work, care about product quality and want to contribute to a team building something bigger.

You don't need formal specialist qualifications to apply.

About the role

Working within our production team, you'll operate and monitor machinery, support production runs and help ensure our products are manufactured safely, consistently and efficiently.

Depending on your experience and capabilities, responsibilities may include extrusion and batch preparation, packaging operations, machine changeovers and supporting the wider production process.

Key responsibilities

Operate and monitor production machinery, including pet food extrusion equipment, vertical pouch packaging machines, stick pouch machines and flow wrappers, depending on your experience and training.

Prepare ingredient mixes and production batches by accurately weighing, measuring and loading ingredients against approved recipes and batch sheets.





Set up, adjust and complete machine changeovers to meet production requirements.

Monitor machine performance, product consistency, output and quality throughout production runs.

Identify and troubleshoot routine machine issues, escalating faults or maintenance requirements when needed.

Complete pre-start checks, routine cleaning and basic equipment maintenance in accordance with approved procedures.

Complete production records, batch documentation, quality checks and downtime reporting accurately.

Support picking, packing and other production activities when required to maintain workflow and meet daily targets.

Follow workplace health and safety, hygiene, GMP and applicable food safety requirements.

Maintain a clean, organised work area and contribute to continuous improvement, reduced waste and efficient production.

About you

You're dependable, hands-on and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where safety, quality, teamwork and productivity matter.

Ideally, you'll bring some of the following:

Experience operating production, processing, extrusion or packaging machinery.

Experience preparing batches, mixing ingredients or following recipes and production specifications.

The ability to set up machinery, make routine adjustments and complete changeovers.





Good mechanical aptitude and the confidence to identify and report equipment issues.

Strong attention to detail when handling ingredients, checking products and completing production records.

A commitment to safe work practices, hygiene and quality standards.

The ability to follow instructions, learn recent equipment and work effectively within a team.

A proactive attitude and willingness to assist across different stages of production.

Experience in pet food, food manufacturing, animal feed, extrusion, pallet press operation or automated packaging will be highly regarded.
