About Construction andMaintenance South

TheConstruction and Maintenance South Branch forms part of theInfrastructure Services Group (ISG) and is responsible fordeveloping and maintaining community infrastructure includingstormwater drainage/culverts, footpath/cycleway and road and bridgeinfrastructure assets. The primary service objective is to ensurethe abovementioned asset classes are developed and maintained in acoordinated and integrated manner. The Construction & MaintenanceSouth Branch plays a crucial role in driving capital andoperational works projects across the Toowoomba region.

About the role

Workingunder limited supervision, you will provide expert advice andconsultative support on construction and maintenance activities,whilst leading the successful delivery of Construction andMaintenance South's capital projects as designated by Council'sCapital Works Program. Projects will include a wide variety ofworks ranging from bridge and stormwater structure works tofootpath and road asset renewal.

What you'll bring

- Bachelor ofEngineering Civil, or equivalent, from a recogniseduniversity.




- RegisteredProfessional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ), or ability to obtainRPEQ registration within 12 months of commencement.
- WHSCompetency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safelyin the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingnessto obtain prior to commencement.
- Working in proximityto Traffic Awareness Part 1 and 2, or ability to obtain within3 months of commencement.
- Demonstrated relevantexperience providing engineering and technical advice in acivil construction workplace.
- Demonstratedexperience in the performance of the Construction Managementrole within a civil environment including the supervision ofconstruction teams and the direction of works.
- Tip: Useheadings to address each criterion and provide examples(situation, task, action, result).

Thepreferred candidate will be required to undertake a CriminalHistory Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assesstheir ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements ofthe position.
