About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician to join our growing team at our Smithfield, NSW location. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with cutting-edge hydraulic systems and equipment. As a Hydraulic Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems for our diverse client base. This position is essential to ensuring our clients' operations run smoothly and safely, and you will be at the forefront of delivering technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting hydraulic systems and components using appropriate testing equipment and methodologies
- Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic components including pumps, motors, cylinders and valves to manufacturer specifications
- Installing and commissioning recent hydraulic systems and equipment for clients
- Conducting pressure testing, flow testing and other diagnostic procedures on hydraulic systems
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and specifications to guide repair and installation work
- Maintaining detailed service records and documentation for all work completed
- Liaising with clients to understand system requirements and provide technical advice on hydraulic solutions
- Adhering to all safety protocols and WorkCover requirements while working with pressurised systems and equipment




- Supporting the team to maintain workshop standards and equipment organisation

What we're looking for

- A recognised apprenticeship or formal qualification in hydraulics, mechanical engineering or a related trade discipline
- Proven experience as a hydraulic technician or similar role working with industrial hydraulic systems
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic principles, components and system operations
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters and leak detection tools
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex hydraulic issues systematically
- A solid understanding of safety regulations, WorkCover requirements and best practices for working with pressurised systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and system optimisation would be advantageous
- Knowledge of various hydraulic fluid types and their applications is desirable
