An established Australian engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing water infrastructure team.

This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys engineering design, solving technical challenges and being involved in projects from the early concept stages right through to commissioning.

The business works across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Australia, partnering with major contractors and clients on complex engineering solutions.

You'll be joining a team of experienced engineers where you will have the prospect to take ownership of your work, contribute to technical decisions and support the development of other engineers.

The Role

Working across a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, you'll be responsible for the mechanical design and delivery of engineering solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading mechanical design across water and wastewater treatment projects
- Designing pumping systems, pipework and associated mechanical equipment
- Preparing engineering calculations, specifications and technical documentation
- Working on projects from concept design through to commissioning and handover
- Conducting technical reviews and identifying opportunities to improve designs
- Collaborating with civil, process, structural and electrical engineers
- Providing technical support during installation, testing and commissioning




- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the wider engineering team

What We’re Looking For

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Approximately 8 to 12+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong experience in the Australian water and wastewater industry
- Proven background in mechanical design within an engineering consultancy
- Experience with pumping systems, hydraulic design, piping and mechanical equipment selection
- Understanding of Australian engineering standards and water industry requirements
- Experience delivering projects from design through to commissioning
- Chartered or RPEQ registration would be highly regarded

We're particularly interested in speaking with engineers who have strong technical design capability and enjoy being hands-on rather than purely managing projects.
