Adelaide Street & Burt Street Rehabilitation Works in Birdsville

Council wishes to advise residents, businesses and road users that road rehabilitation works will be undertaken on Adelaide Street and Burt Street in Birdsville commencing 9 October 2026 and continuing for approximately two (2) months, weather permitting. Temporary road closures and detours will be in place during this time.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Fitter / Mechanic to join our Infrastructure Services team.

This hands-on role involves servicing, maintaining, diagnosing faults and repairing a diverse range of Council plant, heavy earthmoving machinery, equipment and fleet vehicles.

The successful applicant will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, experience working with heavy machinery and a commitment to safe, productive workshop practices.
