About the role

Breve Cafe Bar is seeking a talented Chef and Kitchen Staff member to join our dynamic culinary team on a contract basis. Based in Perth WA 6000, this role is integral to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, plating standards, and presentation requirements

- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness at all times

- Manage mise en place and ensure all ingredients and equipment are organised and ready for service

- Work efficiently during peak service periods, collaborating with other kitchen staff to meet orders promptly

- Follow portion control guidelines and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation

- Assist with menu preparation and contribute to the development of new dishes and seasonal specials

- Monitor stock levels and communicate with management regarding ingredient requirements

- Support the head chef and kitchen team in maintaining operational excellence and service standards





- Respond positively to feedback and continuously improve culinary skills and techniques

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a cafe, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting

- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, with current certification or willingness to obtain it

- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, including knife skills, cooking methods, and plating presentation

- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively during busy service periods

- Robust teamwork and communication skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving

- Flexibility and adaptability to changing kitchen demands and menu requirements

- A passion for culinary excellence and commitment to delivering high-quality food

- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace

- Previous experience in a similar venue or with cafe-style cuisine is advantageous

- Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to accommodate special requests is preferred
