About us

Chronosphere, a Palo Alto Networks company, is the observability platform built for control in the modern, containerized world. Chronosphere empowers customers to focus on the data and insights that matter by reducing complexity, optimizing costs, and remediating issues faster. Chronosphere reduces data volumes and associated costs by 84% on average while saving developers thousands of hours. Recognized as a leader by major analyst firms, Chronosphere is trusted by the world’s most innovative brands, including DoorDash,

About our roles

We are building AI Observability and Evaluation capabilities on Chronosphere’s observability platform to help developers understand and improve the accuracy, relevance, performance and safety of AI models, agents and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) applications. Our team enables customers to systematically test, measure and benchmark AI agents and applications before deployment and monitor how they behave in production. We turn complex telemetry and evaluation data into insights that help developers build and operate reliable AI agents and applications at scale.

The role sits between platform engineering and product. You’ll partner with product managers, engineers and customers to translate emerging AI observability and evaluation needs into scalable backend systems and cohesive developer workflows.

Qualifications

You will

- Partner with your product manager to assess customer needs, co‑create the roadmap and own delivery against it. Your product manager (PM) owns direction. You ground it in what is buildable and drive execution. Both of you bring empathy for the customers who live in these systems every day, so you can tell what outcomes are they trying to achieve and how to help them ship high-quality AI enabled agents and applications safely, securely and reliably.

- Balance large investments alongside a steady cadence of customer requests while ensuring the team can deliver at a predictable pace.
- Guide the team through architectural decisions and technical design.
- Hire and onboard engineers. Coach them through any growing pains, and evolve the team’s norms and delivery cadence.
- Monitor SLOs, SLAs and health of the system in production and take timely action to meet our reliability goals.
- Work with our security and compliance partners on reviews, audits and the commitments we make to customers.

You have

- 3‑5+ years of people management experience
- Empathy for customers and engineers to enable your team to do their best work.
- Robust product sense. You hold a technical and a product point of view at the same time.
- Familiarity with enterprise software and the expectations end users have.
- Experience shaping how a team operates and how it connects to the engineers on other teams who depend on it. You work with your engineers to set the norms, working agreements and cross‑team interfaces.
- Ability to partner with a PM to define and execute on a roadmap that accounts for trade‑offs, customer commitments, corporate/compliance requirements and the organisation’s product strategy.
- The technical depth to assess risk in design reviews, understand critical code paths and evaluate engineering trade‑offs directly. You have ideally built infrastructure software before of a similar profile in terms of reliability and robust performance.
- Direct experience managing engineers. You have nurtured career growth, helped engineers increase their proficiency and held engineers accountable to clear expectations.
- Strong
