The Role

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the delivery of a PostgreSQL‑based platform solution within a National Security customer environment.




This is a hands‑on testing role responsible for ensuring the platform meets its functional, performance, security and operational requirements throughout the build and deployment lifecycle.
You will develop and execute test strategies, plans and test cases across system, integration, operational and user acceptance testing, while working closely with architects, engineers and customer stakeholders to validate solution outcomes.
The role is well suited to a Test Engineer with experience across infrastructure, database or enterprise platform environments and an understanding of automated testing and CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases and supporting documentation.
- Execute system, integration, operational and user acceptance testing activities.
- Validate functional and operational requirements across the PostgreSQL platform solution.
- Test platform performance, resilience and high‑availability requirements.
- Identify, record and manage defects through to resolution.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and customer stakeholders to validate technical outcomes.
- Support testing activities throughout the build and deployment lifecycle.
- Support implementation readiness and operational acceptance activities.




- Produce clear and accurate test results, evidence and supporting documentation.

What You’ll Need

- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, platform or systems testing.
- Experience testing database and enterprise platform solutions.
- Experience developing test strategies, test plans and detailed test cases.
- Experience across system, integration, operational and user acceptance testing.
- Understanding of automated testing approaches and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong defect management and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working within secure government or National Security environments.
- Experience testing PostgreSQL or similar enterprise database platforms.
- Exposure to performance and resilience testing.
- Understanding of high‑availability platform environments.
- Experience working alongside DevOps or platform engineering teams.
- Exposure to automated testing within CI/CD environments.
