Primary Purpose

The Enterprise Risk Lead is responsible for embedding and maintaining Raiz’s Risk Management Framework and AML/CTF program, protecting customers, the business, and Raiz’s licence to operate. Working closely with the Chief Risk Officer, this role turns the Board-approved Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement into day-to-day practice, so risks are identified, owned, and managed consistently across the Group. The role is also accountable for the AML/CTF program, leading its ongoing operation and keeping it current with regulatory change, so Raiz meets its AUSTRAC obligations and manages money laundering and terrorism financing risk effectively. It gives the Board and Executive clear, timely insight into Raiz’s risk profile, positions the business ahead of change rather than reacting to it, and lifts risk maturity across the business.

Key Performance Areas

- Risk Management Framework & Appetite – Lead the embedding and ongoing application of Raiz’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) across the Group, so risk is identified, assessed, owned, and managed consistently in day-to-day decision making.
- Risk Identification, Assessment & Monitoring – Maintain the enterprise risk register, facilitate risk and control self-assessments with risk owners, and develop and monitor key risk indicators against appetite and tolerance.
- AML/CTF Program & Financial Crime Risk – Lead the design, operation, and continuous improvement of the AML/CTF program, so ML/TF risk is assessed, financial crime controls operate effectively, and AUSTRAC reporting is accurate and on time. Act as (or directly support) the designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer.
- Risk Reporting & Governance – Prepare risk and AML/CTF reporting for the CRO, Risk Management Committee, Risk & Technology Committee,

and Board that is accurate, timely, and decision ready.
- Risk Culture & Capability – Build risk and AML/CTF capability across the business through training, guidance, and partnering, and role-model behaviours that support a strong risk culture.

Experience & Knowledge

- Solid experience in enterprise risk management within financial services, including implementing or embedding a risk management framework, risk appetite statement, risk registers, risk and control self-assessments, and key risk indicators.
- Demonstrated experience managing AML/CTF programs end to end, including ML/TF risk assessment, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious matter reporting, and AUSTRAC compliance reporting.
- Working knowledge of the AML/CTF Act and Rules, including the AML/CTF reforms, and experience implementing regulatory change into policies, procedures, and systems.
- Experience operating within an AFSL environment, as a Responsible Entity or fund manager, with familiarity with the Corporations Act 2001 and ASIC regulatory expectations.
- Experience preparing risk and AML/CTF reports for Board, Risk Committees, and Executive leadership, translating technical findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Familiarity with technology and operational risk in a digital financial services setting, including digital identity verification and payments infrastructure (NPP, non-cash payment facilities).
- Experience engaging with regulators,

independent reviewers, and third-party providers.
- Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional peers and key stakeholders to coordinate activities, align resources, and achieve shared business outcomes.
- Previous experience in training, mentoring, and coaching others to build risk and financial crime capability (highly valued).
- Tertiary qualifications in law, finance, business, or a related field (preferred).

Skills & Attributes

- Translate frameworks and regulatory requirements into practical processes, tools, and controls that people can actually use.
- Facilitate risk workshops and assessments, challenge constructively, and influence risk owners to take ownership of their risks.
- Apply sound judgement to financial crime matters, including assessing unusual activity and deciding when to escalate and report.
- Communicate with clarity and influence, tailoring messages to different audiences to achieve shared understanding and alignment.
- Build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders and functions to foster alignment and collaboration to achieve shared outcomes.
- Proactively identify issues (and potential risks) and use strong judgment to act decisively to resolve challenges before they require escalation.
- Provide feedback, instruction, and guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities.
- Act with integrity and accountability, demonstrating a commitment to doing the right thing in every interaction.
- Lead by example in putting the customer first, ensuring the function consistently delivers accurate, empathetic, and seamless experiences.
