Morris Fresh Meats is looking for a motivated and reliable 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice Butcher to join our team at our busy retail butcher shop in Innaloo.

We are an independent butcher shop committed to providing quality meat products, excellent customer service and traditional butchery skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about learning the trade, enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop their skills alongside experienced butchers.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Butcher, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of our shop while developing your practical butchery skills.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with cutting, trimming, boning and preparing a variety of meat products under supervision.
- Learning correct knife handling techniques and protected operation of butchery equipment.
- Preparing sausages, mince, burgers, marinated meats and other value-added products.
- Weighing, packaging, labelling and preparing products for retail sale.
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of meat display cabinets.
- Serving customers and developing knowledge of different meat cuts and cooking methods.
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage and general product handling.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety throughout the shop.
- Cleaning and sanitising work areas, equipment and preparation surfaces.




- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure daily production and customer orders are completed efficiently.
- Attending and completing all required apprenticeship training and assessments.

About You We are looking for someone who:
- Is currently completing their 1st or 2nd year of a butchery apprenticeship.
- Has a genuine interest in butchery and a desire to become a qualified tradesperson.
- Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic.
- Is enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn.
- Can follow instructions, take direction and work well within a team.
- Takes pride in their work and pays attention to detail.
- Understands the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace safety.
- Has a friendly attitude and is comfortable interacting with customers.
- Is physically capable of working in a busy, hands-on retail environment.
