Baker – Full-Time Position

Nguyen's bakery cafe operates a busy production kitchen supplying artisan bread, pastries, cakes and chocolate to the Group's venues. We are committed to producing high-quality bakery products while maintaining consistent standards of quality, presentation, food safety and hygiene.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Baker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, baking and finishing a range of bakery products, maintaining product quality, managing daily production requirements and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards.

This role requires a sound understanding of commercial baking techniques, artisan bread-making and pastry preparation, together with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy kitchen environment.

The responsibilities include

· Prepare, mix, knead, shape, proof and bake a variety of bakery products, including artisan breads, rolls, muffins, laminated dough products and doughnuts.

· Apply appropriate baking techniques and monitor fermentation, proofing times, oven temperatures and baking times to achieve consistent product quality.

· Prepare and finish bakery products in accordance with established recipes, production specifications and quality standards.





· Inspect finished products for quality, texture, appearance and freshness, identify deficiencies and take appropriate corrective action.

· Follow daily production schedules and coordinate baking activities to ensure products are prepared and available within required time frames.

· Monitor ingredient stock levels, maintain inventory records and minimize ingredient waste.

· Assist with the development, testing and refinement of new bakery products, recipes and menu items.

· Ensure that ingredients are handled, stored and labelled appropriately in accordance with food safety requirements.

· Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic working environment in compliance with applicable food safety and workplace health and safety standards.

· Operate, clean and maintain baking equipment and report faults or maintenance requirements promptly.

· Work effectively with other kitchen and production team members to maintain effective operations and consistent product standards.

A qualified applicant must have the right positive attitude of learning evident, minimum certificate level 3 and the candidate can also demonstrate that their ability to follow directions is proven in other roles. The successful applicant must show some years of experience. This position is a regular shifts of 5 days a week over a 7 day roster
