About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our Civil Products business across the Civil Plumbing and Building Reseller sectors, with a particular focus on growing our Trade Waste range. Reporting to the State Manager – Civil, you will win new accounts, strengthen existing customer relationships and work with engineers and specifiers to get our products on the plans. This is a field-based, largely self-managed role where technical credibility and sales results go hand in hand.

A key part of your success will be getting on site with contractors to demonstrate and support installation of our products, including new dry cast material. You will be supported by our Estimating, Customer Experience, Production, Dispatch and Trade Outlet teams.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and win new customer accounts across Civil Plumbing and Building Reseller segments with a primary focus on Trade Waste systems, and grow existing customer relationships
- Prepare quotations and tenders, and manage contracts through to completion
- Provide onsite installation support, demonstrations and training to contractors, including for new dry cast material
- Engage with consultants, engineers and specifiers on standard and new products
- Build specifications with hydraulic consultants, engineers and specifiers, and support product acceptance with the relevant water authorities, to get our Trade Waste products onto project plans




- Deliver product presentations and training to customers and at industry events
- Manage your own territory, diary and weekly call plans, keeping CRM records accurate and up to date
- Track performance against KPIs and budget growth targets
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, and recommend product improvements

About you

- Proven contract development, implementation and management experience
- Robust sales, negotiation and presentation skills with a track record of growth
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems
- Current driver's licence
- Strong autonomous work ethic: self-motivated and effective with minimal supervision
- Comfortable spending regular time on site supporting product installation
- Construction white card, or the ability to obtain one before commencing
