About Urban Edge SA

Urban Edge SA is an established South Australian building company with over 30 years of experience in the residential construction industry. We deliver a diverse range of projects across metropolitan Adelaide, including new homes, multi-dwelling developments, townhouses, renovations, extensions and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

With a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking to strengthen our in-house construction team with an experienced carpenter who can play an important leadership role in our continued growth.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an experienced carpenter who can work independently, organise daily activities and take responsibility for delivering quality carpentry work efficiently and on schedule. You'll be trusted to manage your workload, coordinate a small team where required and work closely with our construction supervisors and project managers to ensure projects run smoothly.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Leading and coordinating carpentry teams and apprentices on residential construction projects.




- Taking ownership of day-to-day carpentry activities, including planning, organising and completing works.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Undertaking all aspects of residential carpentry, including framing, fix-outs, structural works and general building.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, site presentation and safety.
- Identifying and resolving construction challenges proactively.
- Coordinating materials, tools and labour to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
- Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards and within project timeframes.
- Communicating effectively with construction supervisors, project managers and other trades.

About You

We're looking for an experienced tradesperson with a strong work ethic, practical leadership skills and a genuine sense of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have:

- Trade qualification in carpentry with solid experience in residential construction.
- At least 5 years of relevant carpentry experience, preferably including leading hand or team leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of timber framing, structural carpentry, fix-outs and general residential building.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.




- Experience supervising or mentoring other carpenters and apprentices.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to plan ahead, solve problems and make sound decisions on site.
- A strong commitment to quality, safety and meeting deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- A current driver's licence and appropriate construction industry White Card.
