About the role

Flowerdale Estate is a boutique accommodation, wedding, conference and dining destination set amongst 140 acres of beautiful Victorian countryside, approximately 90 minutes from Melbourne. We are seeking two talented chefs to join our kitchen team as we enter an exciting period of growth. With a growing calendar of weddings, corporate events and restaurant service, we are looking for chefs who take pride in what they do, enjoy working with quality produce and want to be part of building something special.

Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef who can work closely with our Head Chef and take a genuine leadership role within the kitchen. You will be confident running service, leading and developing the kitchen team, maintaining consistency and presentation, and helping manage the operational side of a busy kitchen.

Chef de Partie

We're also looking for an enthusiastic Chef de Partie who wants to develop their skills in a varied hospitality setting. You'll work across restaurant service, weddings, conferences and special events, with the opportunity to learn, contribute and progress within the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

- Run service and supervise the kitchen team (Sous Chef)
- Lead and develop the kitchen team (Sous Chef)
- Maintain consistency and presentation (Sous Chef)
- Manage the operational side of a busy kitchen (Sous Chef)
- Work across restaurant service, weddings, conferences and special events (Chef de Partie)
- Prepare and execute service (Chef de Partie)

About you





- Minimum 3 years experience required
- Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery
- Strong restaurant, hotel, wedding or events experience (Sous Chef)
- Excellent organisation and leadership skills (Sous Chef)
- Strong understanding of food safety, ordering, stock control and cost management (Sous Chef)
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen (Chef de Partie)
- Good communication and teamwork
- Reliability and a positive attitude
- A genuine interest in food and hospitality
- Own transportation is essential
- Weekend and public holiday availability is essential
