The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role involves food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations for our onsite cafe while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, hygiene, and service.

Key Responsibilities

- Organise daily kitchen activities and arrange ingredients and preparation tasks based on menu requirements.
- Prepare and cook a variety of cafe dishes while maintaining appropriate portion sizes and presentation.
- Assist with the preparation of pastries, baked products, breads, and other menu items as required.
- Check food quality throughout preparation and ensure finished dishes meet established presentation standards.
- Work with managers and kitchen and service staff to address food preparation and service requirements.




- Guide kitchen team members on appropriate cooking methods, preparation techniques, and workplace procedures.
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, and safe handling practices in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Assist with training new kitchen staff and provide guidance on food preparation and kitchen procedures.
- Store, preserve, and rotate food products appropriately to maintain freshness and minimise wastage.

Qualifications & Experience

- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Commercial Cookery, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety requirements.
- Robust communication, teamwork, organisation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining food quality and presentation.
