Civil Designer - Land Development

Same estate, same task, month after month?

It’s easy to end up there. You’re positive at what you do, but you’re stuck on one layer of one type of job, and you don’t get to see much else.

This one gives you range, two ways.

First, you’d work on the whole subdivision. Roads, stormwater, water and sewer, services, DA and OPW. Not one piece of it.

Second, you’d work across every size of job. Tight, fiddly one-into-two lots and small townhouse sites, right up to 1,000+ lot developments the size of a whole suburb.

The small sites sharpen your detail. The big ones show you how a whole community gets built. You get both.

Traffic, stormwater and flooding are done in-house too, so you see how it all fits together. And if you want to stretch into stormwater, or start running small jobs yourself, there’s room for that.

There’s plenty of work on, mostly from clients they’ve worked with for years.

The team’s small and technical. They like being on the tools and they care about the detail. Every job goes through design and drafting checklists, and the tricky ones get pulled apart in the boardroom first.



One of the leads is a senior designer with 15+ years behind them, so you’d be learning from someone who’s done it.

It’s flat. If you’ve got a question, ask. If you’ve got an idea, back yourself. Their line is they’re a practice-centred business, not a business-centred practice.

Real rewards (not just competitive). There’s an employee-owned ethos and an annual profit share, split on merit.

What you’ll need is somewhere between 2 and 10 years in civil design, ideally on subdivisions. 12D and AutoCAD are a must, plus a good handle on AUSTROADS. Civil 3D, PCDRAIN/PCSEWER or TMR highway design would be a bonus.

The honest bit. It’s full time in an open plan office, no work from home. And it’s not one for career changers, or anyone who’d rather stay drafting. They want designers who have a say in the design.
