The Opportunity Local is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to join an established commercial builder specialising in large scale commercial developments across Melbourne.

This opportunity will suit an experienced Senior Project Manager looking to take the next step into a Construction Manager position.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of a circa $100m development, supported by a fully resourced site management and project engineering team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the project from initial handover through to completion.

Key responsibilities include

- Full ownership of a circa $100m project.
- Leading and managing the site management and project engineering teams.
- Overall responsibility for project programming, commercial performance, design, quality and safety.
- Overseeing procurement, subcontractor engagement and contract administration.
- Managing project budgets, forecasting, cash flow and commercial reporting.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Identifying project risks and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Mentoring and developing project staff to ensure successful delivery.





What We're Looking We are specifically looking for someone with a strong background in commercial construction who has demonstrated experience delivering large-scale projects for a head contractor.

To be considered, you must have:

- A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
- Proven experience delivering construction projects valued above $20m.
- Experience working directly for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 commercial construction head contractor.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from commencement through to completion.
- Strong commercial knowledge, including procurement, cost management, forecasting and contract administration.
- Experience managing both site and project delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of construction programming, methodology and design coordination.

We are not looking for someone who has only recently stepped into a Project Manager position. This role requires an experienced construction skilled with a proven track record of managing projects, people and commercial outcomes. What's on Offer
