Bundaberg Plaza Discount Drug Store is seeking a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented Dispensary Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dispensary environment, supporting pharmacists and helping deliver safe, efficient and high-quality service to our patients.
Hours will vary depending on business needs, with opportunities ranging from 5 to 38 hours per week.
About the role
Working alongside our pharmacists and pharmacy team, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our dispensary.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assisting pharmacists with the dispensing process and general dispensary workflow.
- Processing prescriptions and entering patient and medication information into pharmacy software.
- Preparing labels, assembling prescriptions and assisting with the accurate supply of medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Managing and receiving stock, and maintaining dispensary inventory.
- Supporting patient service and responding to enquiries within your scope of practice.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional dispensary setting.
- Following pharmacy procedures and relevant legislative and safety requirements.
- Preparing and managing dose administration aids (Webster packs/blister packs) may be required from time to time.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a pharmacy dispensary or as a Dispensary Assistant or Technician.
- Has a strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with pharmacists, colleagues and patients.
- Is comfortable using pharmacy dispensing software
- Understands the importance of patient confidentiality, safety and professional conduct.
