Early Childhood Educator – Lunch Relief

Part-time | Monday to Friday | 10:30 am–2:30 pm

About the role A Country Garden Early Childhood Centres is seeking a dedicated, nurturing educator to join our team in a part-time lunch relief role.

The position is five days per week, Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Applicants must also have the flexibility to stay beyond 2:30 pm when required to meet the centre’s staffing needs.

You will provide relief across our learning environments while educators take their breaks, helping children feel safe, supported and engaged through consistent care and positive interactions.

Key responsibilities

- Provide attentive care and active supervision while covering educators’ lunch breaks.

- Support children’s routines, including mealtimes, rest and play, encouraging independence.

- Continue planned activities and learning experiences in collaboration with room educators.

- Communicate clearly with colleagues about children’s needs, wellbeing and daily routines.

- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.

- Help maintain clean, safe and welcoming learning environments.

- Follow centre policies and procedures and contribute to a supportive team culture.

What we’re looking for

- A recognised early childhood education and care qualification, such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

- A current Working with Children Check (Queensland Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one before commencing.





- A sound understanding of child development and early childhood learning frameworks.

- A warm, patient approach and a genuine interest in supporting young children.

- Confidence working across different age groups and learning environments.

- Reliability, teamwork and clear communication skills.

- Availability Monday to Friday, 10:30 am–2:30 pm, with flexibility to work additional time after 2:30 pm when needed.

- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

- Previous experience in an early childhood education and care setting is desirable.
