Location: Gawler East (4 days a week) & Mount Pleasant (1 day a week)

Start Date: Mid November 2026 (flexible)

Remuneration: $32.13-35 an hour, dependent on experience

About Us

Cameron Veterinary Services was established by Dr Lachlan Cameron in March 2020, initially operating as a mobile veterinary service primarily caring for large animals.

Since then, we have continued to grow, opening two purpose-built clinics in Gawler East and Mount Pleasant.

We are a family-orientated, independently owned veterinary practice with a strong focus on high-quality, personalised veterinary care while maintaining a positive, supportive and flexible working environment.

We believe that providing exceptional patient care shouldn't come at the expense of our team's wellbeing.

Our Clinics & Facilities

Our Gawler East clinic features three consultation rooms, a dedicated surgical theatre, separate sterile preparation and treatment areas, individual dog and cat wards, diagnostic imaging facilities, grooming facilities and offices.

Our Mount Pleasant clinic is also equipped with consultation rooms, a dedicated surgical theatre, sterile preparation and treatment areas, diagnostic imaging and grooming facilities.

Our equipment and facilities include:

- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound
- Dedicated surgical theatres and sterile preparation areas
- iM3 dental equipment and dental radiography
- Separate hospitalisation areas
- In-house diagnostic equipment
- Dog grooming facilities

What Will Your Role Involve? Looking for a nursing position where you can genuinely put your qualifications, knowledge and experience to use?

At Cameron Veterinary Services, we want our nurses to be actively involved in patient care and clinical nursing responsibilities.

Your role will include:

- Monitoring anaesthesia for routine and more complex surgical procedures.
- Surgical preparation and assisting veterinarians during procedures.
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients.
- Providing post-operative care and pain management.
- Performing nurse consultations.
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures, including pathology and imaging.
- Providing client education, communication and ongoing patient support.
- Maintaining clinical standards, equipment and treatment areas.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of clinic procedures.

While maintaining a clean and hygienic clinical environment is an important part of veterinary nursing, we believe your qualifications and experience should be put to good use. Our nurses are actively involved in clinical procedures, patient care and consultations, with opportunities to further develop their skills.



Essential Skills & Experience

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- Minimum two years' experience in a veterinary nursing role
- Strong clinical nursing skills, particularly in anaesthetic monitoring, surgical nursing and hospitalised patient care
- Confidence working independently and managing nursing responsibilities with minimal supervision when required
- Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to conduct nurse consultations or a willingness to develop these skills
- A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to working within a team
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality patient care and client service

Hours of Work

Full time position – 76 hours per fortnight

Our clinic opening hours are:

Gawler East

- Monday–Friday: 8am – 5pm
- Saturday: 9am – 12pm

Mount Pleasant

- Tuesday: 9am - 4pm
- Wednesday–Friday: 9am - 5pm

The successful applicant will primarily work at our Gawler East clinic, with one day per week at Mount Pleasant. No after-hours or overtime requirements!
