Role Description The Field AV Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining professional audio visual systems at client locations. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and commissioning AV equipment, performing system diagnostics, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that video conferencing, lighting, and projection solutions operate reliably. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, collaborating with project managers and other technicians, and providing clear user guidance and handover documentation to clients.





The technician will also conduct routine maintenance, support upgrades, and respond to service calls, while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including installation, configuration, and integration across diverse environments.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting AV-related issues, conducting diagnostics, and resolving faults efficiently on-site.
- Experience with Video Conferencing platforms and hardware, including setup, testing, and user support.
- Practical skills in Lighting control systems and Projectors, including mounting, alignment, and calibration.
- Previous experience in field service or AV installation, ideally within commercial or enterprise environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Solid understanding of basic networking concepts relevant to AV over IP and connected devices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently on-site.
- Positive physical fitness and willingness to work at heights, handle equipment, and travel to client sites as required.
- Relevant trade qualification, AV certification, or equivalent practical experience; valid driver’s license preferred.
