You will be joining an established, Brisbane-based hospitality group with a diverse range of operations spanning food and beverage, restaurants, functions and other commercial activities.
Working within a small finance team, you will take responsibility for a varied mix of payroll and transactional finance activities. The role has a strong focus on fortnightly payroll and accounts receivable, including monthly billing, statements and customer account queries, alongside accounts payable and reconciliations.
This is a hands-on position, well-suited to someone who has a solid grounding in accounts, some payroll experience and the confidence to deal with customers and suppliers. You will need to be organised, accurate and comfortable adapting to changing priorities, with a willingness to help across the wider finance function when needed.
The role is based in the Brisbane CBD, five days per week.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance & Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
- Processing fortnightly payroll for approximately 100 employees, including new starters, terminations and leave.
- Managing accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, monthly statements, account adjustments and resolving queries.
- Maintaining accurate customer accounts and ensuring billing and reconciliations are completed on time.
- Processing supplier invoices, checking coding and GST treatment, and assisting with payment runs.
- Completing bank reconciliations, cash balancing and general ledger reconciliations.
- Supporting month-end activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Responding to queries from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with finance systems and process improvements, including accounts payable workflows.
- Providing support across the finance team as priorities require.
Who you are You are experienced across Finance within a broad sense, with specific exposure to payroll processing. You have (or are eager to learn) about the multiple facets of accounts receivable, and have the confidence to engage directly with customers on a regular basis.
