Workfast is looking for a qualified and experienced Fitter Machinist to join the workshop team of RPC Technologies in Seven Hills.

Location: Seven Hills, NSW

Pay Rate: $47.09 per hour + Overtime + Super

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm

Start Date: ASAP

This is a hands-on role involving the precision machining, fabrication, overhaul, and assembly of composite structures and advanced engineering components across infrastructure, defence, and transport projects. The position offers consistent full time hours and the potential to transition into a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Set up and operate manual lathe and milling machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances
- Perform detailed mechanical fitting, assembly, and disassembly work for complex composite assemblies
- Interpret technical engineering drawings, specifications, and follow strict quality assurance procedures
- Conduct precise measurements using micrometers, vernier calipers, and precision gauges
- Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant quality control documentation
- Assist with general workshop tasks, component testing, and maintain a safe, clean work area
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery as required

About You

- Trade-qualified Fitter Machinist or Mechanical Fitter with machining experience (Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent)




- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience operating manual lathes and millers
- Prior exposure to machining or fitting within manufacturing, composite materials, heavy engineering, or defense sectors
- High attention to detail, precision, and strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work effectively from technical drawings and specifications
- Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high-quality workmanship
