FOI OfficerYour new company A localgovernment organisation in Perth is seeking an experienced Freedom ofInformation (FOI) Officer to assist with a time-sensitive FOI matter. This is ashort-term assignment requiring a specialist who can step in and manage theprocess independently from day one.

Your new role

Reporting into asupportive team, you will be responsible for managing an FOI request from endto end, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (WA). Thisis a hands-on role requiring strong judgement, attention to detail, and the abilityto work with sensitive and confidential information.

Keyresponsibilities include

- Managing an FOI application through the full assessment and response process
- Reviewing, analysing and collating relevant documentation
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to obtain and assess information
- Applying FOI legislation and exemptions where appropriate
- Preparing correspondence and recommendations
- Maintaining accurate records in electronic document management systems
What you'll need to succeed





- Demonstrated experience processing FOI applications under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (WA)
- Ability to manage FOI requests independently from commencement to completion
- Experience within local government, state government, legal, regulatory or compliance environments
- Strong records management and document review skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and electronic records management systems
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
