About the role

DPJ Constructions is expanding and seeking Formwork Carpenters, Steel Fixers, Concreters and Traineeship/ Labourers to join our growing team. Based in Hervey Bay, we deliver civil infrastructure, commercial, industrial and structural concrete projects throughout the Fraser Coast and surrounding regions. We offer a combination of ongoing local construction work and opportunities to earn significantly more on regional, remote and mining projects across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

Formwork Carpenters

- Civil infrastructure formwork, including culverts, headwalls, wingwalls and stormwater structures

- Concrete pits, retaining walls, footings and foundations

- Road infrastructure and structural concrete works

- Commercial and industrial formwork

- Suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls

- Tilt panel construction

- Reading and interpreting construction drawings

Steel Fixers

- Reinforcement installation for civil infrastructure projects

- Culverts, headwalls, wingwalls and stormwater structures

- Road infrastructure, retaining walls, slabs and foundations

- Commercial and industrial structural reinforcement

- Suspended slabs, beams, columns and footings

- Reading and interpreting reinforcement drawings and bar schedules

Concreters

- Civil concrete placement, screeding and finishing

- Footpaths, kerbs, pram ramps, traffic islands and driveways

- Concrete pavements, hardstands and drainage channels

- Culverts, headwalls, stormwater structures and retaining walls

- Commercial and industrial slabs and structural concrete

- Power floating, hand finishing,



broom finishing and exposed aggregate

Labourers/ Traineeships

- Assisting tradespeople

- Working under direction

- Cleaning and moving equipment

About you

- Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail

- Demonstrated experience in civil, commercial or industrial construction

- Construction White Card

- Current driver's licence and reliable transport

- Ability to read construction plans/ drawings relevant to your trade

- Ability to work safely, independently and within a team

- Willingness to assist across formwork, reinforcing steel installation and concrete works when required, within your skills, training and competency

- Commitment to quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines

- Mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

- Compliance with DPJ's ongoing fitness-for-work and drug and alcohol testing requirements

We deliver civil infrastructure, commercial, industrial and structural concrete projects throughout the Fraser Coast and offer FIFO and DIDO work for projects around Queensland and interstate. We use the Procore construction management platform to communicate, streamline workflows, track safety and quality, and keep our office and field teams aligned in real time.
