Bache Bros, one of South Australia's premier fresh produce suppliers, is currently seeking a Fresh Produce Packer and Quality Control responsible for assessing and grading produce against established quality standards while supporting warehouse operations and inventory control. The role also performs administrative duties related to produce movements, certification documentation and record keeping. The position ensures accurate grading, compliance with plant health and quality requirements and reliable administrative support to maintain productive storage, packing and dispatch operations.

Key responsibilities

- Evaluate produce against established quality standards

- Determine the grade and quality of produce using visual inspection and relevant quality criteria

- Sort and separate produce into defined grades in accordance with industry standards

- Monitor and maintain the quality and condition of graded produce during handling and storage

- Conduct fruit grading activities and support packing line operations as required

- Complete pack-outs and ensure produce is packed and labelled correctly according to grade and customer specifications

- Identify and report any quality concerns, defects or inconsistencies to supervisors

- Complete quality checks in line and on outbound loads





- Assist in monitoring produce inventory and retention within storage areas

- Maintain proper handling procedures to preserve product quality and minimise waste

About you

- Certificate II in Horticulture or any similar qualifications (desirable)

- Relevant, proven work experience in the same or similar role for at least 2 years will be acceptable in lieu of qualifications

- Any studies in business or administration or similar, or work experience that involved keeping records of produce (desirable)

- Solid communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation management

- Proven working experience in dispatch

- Proven working experience in produce grading

- Understanding of Warehouse principles and customer service practices

- Knowledge of work health and safety procedures or ability and willingness to learn quickly
