Now in its 10th year, the program has given dozens of school leavers the prospect to spend 12 months in the workforce, develop practical skills and get a better idea of where they want to go next.

For some, it’s been a stepping stone to university or further study. For others, it’s led to ongoing opportunities with Collier & Miller, including full-time roles and traineeships.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll get hands-on experience across different areas of the C&M; business, with a particular focus on sales and logistics.

Your days will be varied and could include:

- Assisting customers and supporting our sales team

- Working with suppliers and helping with incoming orders

- Assisting with stock handling, warehousing and logistics

- Helping with general administration and customer service

- Working alongside experienced team members to help keep the business running smoothly

What You’ll Gain A gap year at C&M; is about more than earning a wage. Over 12 months, you’ll have the opportunity to develop:

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous experience.



We’re looking for school leavers with the right attitude and a willingness to get involved.

You’ll ideally bring

- A reliable and motivated attitude
- A willingness to learn and try new things
- A team-first approach

- Good communication skills
- The ability to listen and follow instructions

You’ll also need to
- Be physically fit and able to undertake some manual work, including lifting up to 20kg

- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol test

- Be available for occasional Saturday shifts when required
