Cooinda Coonabarabran
Coonabarabran
Hotel Services Supervisor
Coonabarabran, NSW | Full-time or Part-time | $37.57 to $45.00 per hour Bring your hospitality experience somewhere it can make a real difference.
If you know how to lead a busy restaurant, hotel, café, kitchen or hospitality team, you already have many of the skills we're looking for.
Cooinda Coonabarabran is looking for a practical, people-focused Hotel Services Supervisor to lead our kitchen, cleaning and laundry teams.
You don't need aged care experience. We're looking for someone who understands people, great service, high standards and how to bring out the best in a team.
What's on offer
- $37.57 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience, approximately $74,238 to $88,920 per year for a 38-hour full-time week, plus superannuation and applicable penalties or allowances.
- Full time or part-time, depending on what you are looking for.
- Predominantly Monday to Friday, with some flexibility for occasional 7am starts or finishes around 6pm .
- Up to $15,900 per year in NFP salary packaging for eligible living expenses, helping you make more of your take-home pay.
- Additional remote-area salary packaging benefits may be available for eligible expenses such as rent, mortgage interest and residential utilities, depending on your circumstances.
- Temporary FREE accommodation can be provided if you're relocating, giving you time to settle into Coonabarabran while you find permanent accommodation.
- Supportive, encouraging and approachable management who want you to succeed.
- Development tailored to you. Through open conversations with your manager, we'll identify where you'd like to grow and where further support would benefit you, then look at bespoke development opportunities rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
- On-the-job training plus access to professional development through Ausmed.
- The opportunity to help shape hospitality services for Cooinda's new Lodge, including establishing standards, systems and ways of working.
What you'd be doing Think of this as hospitality leadership in a different setting.
Instead of guests staying for a weekend or customers joining you for dinner, the people experiencing your service are residents who call Cooinda home.
You'll lead the teams responsible for the everyday experiences around them: food, dining, cleanliness, laundry, presentation and service. You'll:
- lead, coach and support our kitchen, cleaning and laundry teams
- work alongside your teams to understand what's happening day-to-day and find better ways of doing things
- set clear service standards and maintain practical systems, procedures, duty lists and checklists
- train and develop staff, provide feedback and manage performance
- monitor meal and dining services, resident experience and facility presentation
- listen and respond to resident feedback
- conduct practical audits and spot checks and follow issues through
- oversee stock, supplies and equipment
- maintain high standards of food safety, infection control and WHS
- help develop the hospitality standards and processes for our new Lodge.
- This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage everything from behind a desk. We're looking for someone who enjoys being visible, getting amongst the team and making things better.
What we're looking for You might come from a hotel, restaurant, café, commercial kitchen, catering company, club, venue or another hospitality environment.
You could be a restaurant or café manager, hotel supervisor, food and beverage supervisor, chef or senior cook ready for your next step, catering supervisor, housekeeping supervisor or an experienced hospitality team leader.
More important than your industry is how you lead.
We're looking for someone who:
- has experience supervising or leading people
- genuinely enjoys motivating,
coaching and developing a team
- understands what excellent customer service looks and feels like
- has high standards and strong attention to detail
- is confident setting expectations and respectfully holding people accountable
- has strong communication, organisational and practical administration skills
- understands food service, hygiene and quality standards
- is hands-on, approachable and comfortable solving problems as they arise.
- Qualifications in hospitality, leadership, commercial cookery or health services would be welcomed, but relevant experience is equally valued.
Why Coonabarabran and Cooinda? There is something special about building a career in a regional community.
Coonabarabran sits in the heart of the Warrumbungle region, where the commute is shorter, people know one another and the contribution you make can genuinely be seen and felt.
At Cooinda, you'll join an established, locally governed organisation with strong community connections and ambitious plans for the future. Our strategic direction includes investment in our people, career development, new services and positioning Cooinda as an employer people genuinely want to work for.
And hospitality here really does matter.
A great meal matters. A beautifully presented room matters. Being greeted warmly matters. Feeling listened to matters.
In a restaurant or hotel, those things can transform someone's day. At Cooinda, they can transform someone's experience of home.
Ready for something different?
If you're an experienced hospitality person looking for leadership, predominantly Monday-to-Friday work, competitive pay, salary-packaging benefits, genuine development and a regional lifestyle, we'd love to hear from you.
And if you're thinking about relocating, talk to us. With temporary free accommodation available while you settle in, your next career move might be easier than you think.
Apply now and tell us about the teams you've led, the standards you're proud of and why Coonabarabran could be your next chapter.
