We’re looking for a commercially driven Key Account Manager who can take ownership of the WA market and actively grow our presence across the state.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable developing existing customers and winning new business. This means increasing our share of wallet within established accounts by identifying additional applications, sites, products and opportunities, while also increasing the number of customers we work with through disciplined business development and prospecting.
You will need to be highly self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously. This is not a role that requires constant direction. We’re looking for someone who can identify where the opportunities are, build a plan, prioritise their territory and follow opportunities through to completion.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A proven track record in B2B account management and current business development, preferably within industrial, mining, resources, maintenance or technical product markets.
- A strong commercial approach to growing existing accounts, identifying opportunities to increase customer spend across additional products, applications, departments and sites.
- Demonstrated ability to win new customers and expand market penetration, building a healthy pipeline of prospective accounts rather than relying solely on an existing customer base.
- The ability to develop strategic account plans that identify current business, potential opportunities, key stakeholders and clear actions for growth.
- A proactive approach to prospecting, networking and creating opportunities within a defined territory.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with maintenance teams, technical personnel, procurement and senior decision-makers.
- The confidence to have commercially focused conversations that uncover operational problems and translate them into practical solutions.
- A high degree of independence and personal accountability, with the ability to plan your own activity, manage priorities and maintain momentum without day-to-day supervision.
- Strong territory and time management skills, including the discipline to balance existing customer development, prospecting, site visits and follow-up.
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding that success is measured not simply by maintaining relationships, but by sustainable sales growth and increased market penetration.
- Confidence using CRM systems to manage opportunities, maintain pipeline visibility, plan activities and forecast sales.
- A willingness to travel throughout WA and spend time on customer sites as required.
