Large Forklift Operator

Location: Forth, Tasmania

Sumich, Australia’s largest exporter of fresh onions and carrots, supplies high-quality produce to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the domestic market. We are currently seeking an experienced Large Forklift Operator to join our busy onion packing operation in Forth, Tasmania.

This role begins with limited training hours in December, increasing in January as onion receival ramps up. Work is expected to continue to late April, with potential for ongoing employment for candidates who show versatility and a willingness to explore other roles within our operation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently operate a Large Forklift.
- Load and unload containers on and off trucks and tipping platforms.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as opening and closing container doors.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, supervisors, and team members.
- Collaborate with intake and production teams to meet daily targets.




- Conduct pre-start equipment checks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.

Requirements:

- Valid forklift license.
- Proven experience operating Large Forklifts or other heavy machinery.
- Ability to thrive in a quick-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
