Maddington Hyundai & Isuzu UTE is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team.

This is an exciting chance for an accomplished accounting professional to take ownership of key finance functions and play an integral role in supporting the financial performance of a busy and successful dealership operation. Working closely with dealership leadership and an experienced Finance Manager, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting, process improvements, and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Perform complex bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Prepare journals, accruals, and financial reports
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
- Partner with operational managers to provide financial support and insights

About You We're looking for a finance professional who brings:
- Demonstrated experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accountant, or similar finance role




- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
- Excellent reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational capabilities
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion) highly regarded
