Roxburgh Park Medical Select is a general practice in Coolaroo and one of the Medical Select clinics in Melbourne's north and west. We need medical receptionists to join the front desk.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for patients and GPs. The practice runs on Best Practice for appointments, billing and patient records. Your job is to run the desk well and keep the day moving.

The practice is supported by Medical Select's Area Operations Manager, who is contactable every day for guidance, training and anything that needs a management decision.

Your day-to-day duties

- Greeting patients, checking them in and managing the waiting room
- Booking, confirming and rescheduling appointments in Best Practice, including online bookings
- Answering phones and managing general enquiries
- Entering and processing billings, including Medicare and private payments, throughout the day
- Handling pathology results, referrals and recall letters as directed
- Monitoring the practice inbox and passing tasks to the right person
- Preparing consulting rooms and keeping stock and supplies ready for the doctors
- Filing and scanning




- Opening and closing the practice

What we're looking for

- Experience with Best Practice or a GP clinic is preferred, but full training is provided for the right applicant
- Solid communication skills and a professional, calm phone manner
- Good computer skills and accurate data entry
- Reliable, punctual and committed
- Discretion with patient information and a warm, respectful presence with patients

What's on offer

Full time, part time and casual roles are all available. Full time is an average of 38 hours a week.

Pay: $27 to $32 an hour plus super, depending on experience and the award rates. Casual staff get the 25% casual loading on top.
