Lead the Night Shift at EDGE Building Products

EDGE Building Products is seeking an experienced, hands-on Night Shift Supervisor / Loader – Forklift Operator to lead our night-shift loading and dispatch operations at our Caversham facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines robust forklift and loading experience with the ability to lead a small team of approximately three employees.

You will be responsible for coordinating the night-shift workload, ensuring customer orders are picked and loaded accurately, maintaining a safe working environment and making sure trucks are loaded on time and ready for dispatch.

We are looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership of their shift and can keep operations running efficiently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Shift Coordination

- Supervise and coordinate a small team of approximately three employees.
- Allocate tasks and organise workloads to meet nightly dispatch deadlines.
- Lead by example, maintaining high standards of productivity, safety and work quality.
- Monitor team performance and ensure employees follow established procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding shift progress, issues and priorities.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the night-shift loading operation.

Forklift, Loading and Dispatch Operations

- Safely operate a forklift to move, position and load building products.
- Pick, check and verify orders against dispatch paperwork.
- Ensure the correct products and quantities are loaded onto the correct trucks.
- Check product identification and ensure orders are prepared accurately.
- Handle roofing products and building materials carefully to minimise damage.




- Coordinate loading activities to ensure trucks are ready for scheduled departures.
- Identify and resolve loading discrepancies or operational issues as they arise.

Safety and Housekeeping

- Maintain a safe, clean and organised loading and warehouse area.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Promote safe forklift operation and correct manual-handling practices.
- Ensure equipment is used correctly and any hazards or incidents are reported promptly.

What We're Looking For

- A current and valid Australian LF forklift high-risk work licence.
- Previous experience in forklift operations, loading, warehousing or dispatch.
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing or transport environment.
- The ability to organise workloads, prioritise tasks and coordinate a small team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate order loading.
- Excellent communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for the night shift.
- Availability to work permanently from 7:30 pm to 3:30 am.

Experience handling steel, roofing products or other building materials will be highly regarded.
