Aligned Search partnering with a large construction business looking for an experienced National Payroll Manager to lead its national payroll operations, strengthen governance and controls, and help shape the future of its payroll function.

About the role:

- Lead end-to-end payroll for approximately 3,800 employees across multiple entities nationally
- Manage a team of 7 payroll professionals, driving performance, development and service excellence.
- Oversee weekly and monthly payroll cycles within a complex operational workplace.
- Navigate 50+ Enterprise Agreements, Awards and diverse workforce conditions.
- Strengthen payroll compliance, governance, audit readiness and internal controls.
- Play a key role in acquisition integration, process improvement and automation.
- Contribute to major technology initiatives,



including UKG Pro Workforce Management and SAP S/4HANA readiness.

About you:

- 10+ years' end-to-end payroll experience in a large, complex organisation.
- Proven experience leading and developing a payroll team.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Awards and compliance.
- Experience across payroll governance, reconciliations, audits and remediation.
- Exposure to payroll transformation, system implementations or acquisition integration.
- Strong SAP payroll knowledge, with UKG, Kronos or Workday exposure highly regarded.
