We are partnering with a privately owned Australian investment group that is entering a new stage of growth. With a portfolio of well-known retail destinations, the business is investing in the people and systems behind the scenes, starting with the head office and the person who will run it. /n The role/n This is an office management role with light executive support. The work does not arrive in a neat queue. /n The leadership team is self-sufficient.
They book their own diaries and manage their own inboxes. What they want is someone who takes work off their plate: the supplier negotiations, overall facilities, the function that needs organising. You will own the running of a head office and keep a second office in line. /n When it works well, nobody in the business thinks about the office at all.
That is the standard. /n What you will do/n /n
- /n Take ownership of the contracts and suppliers behind the office, including electricity, telecommunications, IT support and insurance, comparing options and negotiating instead of accepting renewals /n
- /n Run the office day to day: stationery, kitchen and amenities, maintenance, building management, meeting rooms and deliveries /n
- /n Lead the receptionist, own the daily office routine and make sure it is done properly, stepping in to cover reception when needed /n
- /n Run onboarding for new starters, from workspace and equipment setup, including laptops, to inductions /n
- /n Plan events, functions and catering /n
- /n Support the senior leaders with bookings and travel, document preparation, DocuSign and ad hoc requests /n
- /n Chase the things that need chasing, and pick up work that is on no list, including supporting events and marketing activity across the retail destinations /n /n What you will bring/n /n
- /n Several years running an office or supporting senior people in a private or owner-operated business /n
- /n Experience managing suppliers and contractors, and the confidence to challenge a price /n
- /n Sound judgement on the basics. You know how to find an energy retailer or sort an IT problem without being shown. /n
- /n Transparent, professional communication with leaders, staff, visitors and suppliers /n
- /n Comfort with Microsoft 365 and the ability to pick up new systems without hand-holding /n
- /n A stable career history, with tenure that shows you finish what you start /n /n Who you are/n You like a wide remit. You do not need every task defined before you start, and you prefer to resolve a problem instead of escalating it. You take satisfaction from being the person the whole office relies on. /n You are comfortable owning a supplier contract from comparison to signature, leading a receptionist and working alongside them, and moving between several different tasks in the same day. /n This role suits someone who is at ease without a fixed . If you prefer a tightly defined scope with clear boundaries, it will not be the right fit, because the work changes with what the business needs. /n Why you will love working here/n /n
- /n Direct access to the people who run the business, in a small owner-led team with no layers between you and the decision-makers /n
- /n Real ownership. The contracts, suppliers and systems are yours to improve, not just administer. /n
- /n A breadth of exposure that most office roles do not offer: operations, procurement, onboarding and events in the same week /n
- /n A role that grows as the business grows, with more of the business and the team landing on your desk /n
- /n A leadership team that is clear about what it wants and backs the person who delivers it /n /n Ready to apply?/n If this sounds like the right next step, apply today and we will be in touch.
