About the Role

Weldworks is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team in West Ryde, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and other protective coatings, and completing painting and finishing work to meet project specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong practical painting skills, attention to detail and the ability to prepare and finish surfaces professionally while following workplace health and safety requirements.

What You Will Deliver

Deliver high-quality painting and finishing work in accordance with project specifications.

Prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion, durability and a professional finish.

Apply paint, primers, sealants and other appropriate coatings using suitable techniques.

Achieve consistent colour, coverage, texture and finish quality.

Inspect completed work and rectify imperfections where necessary.

Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Your Work Will Include

Inspecting surfaces to determine the appropriate preparation and painting methods.

Cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling and smoothing surfaces before painting.

Repairing minor surface imperfections and preparing surfaces for coating.

Selecting and preparing paints, primers and other coatings according to specifications.

Applying paint and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment or other appropriate methods.

Matching colours and ensuring consistent coverage and finish.

Applying undercoats, finishing coats and protective coatings as required.

Protecting surrounding surfaces, fixtures and equipment from paint contamination.





Inspecting completed work for uneven coverage, defects and other imperfections.

Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment and work areas.

Following product safety instructions, ventilation requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.

What You Will Bring

Relevant trade qualifications in painting or equivalent demonstrated practical experience.

Proven experience in painting, surface preparation and finishing work relevant to the position.

Knowledge of paints, primers, coatings, application methods and surface preparation techniques.

Ability to select suitable materials and application methods for different surfaces.

Familiarity with painting tools, spray equipment and relevant safety procedures.

Solid attention to detail and commitment to professional finishing standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good time management, reliability and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe handling of painting products.
