Position: News & Copy Editor
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70–$75/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 25 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

- Review paired AI-generated news/copy writing against task briefs and writing guides.
- Judge for factual accuracy, hedging, and buried leads.
- Select a preferred sample and write a one-line reason.
- Apply tags and explicit the calibration gate before live data.
- Work independently to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- Desk or copy editing experience at a major news organization.




- Comfortable cutting copy to the point on deadline.
- Ability to catch factual slips or buried leads on the first read.
- Hourly contractor
