About the Role Glen Fisk Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Security Specialist for a contract opportunity based in Brisbane CBD.

This role focuses on Check Point firewall management, implementation, migration and ongoing technical support within a fast-paced managed services setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing existing security infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the transition to more efficient and manageable security solutions.

The position operates within a team delivering 24/7 security services and may involve rostered on-call support.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct discovery and due diligence assessments of existing Check Point firewall environments.
- Document current infrastructure, assess security posture, supportability and ongoing service management requirements.
- Lead knowledge transfer activities to support internal technical teams.
- Develop recommendations for migrating existing firewall environments to more cost-effective and manageable solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting and maintenance of Check Point firewalls.
- Assist with planning and implementing firewall migrations to new security solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure service delivery.




- Contribute to security improvements and enhancements to existing infrastructure services.

Essentials

- Extensive hands-on experience in Check Point firewall implementation, migration, management and technical support.
- Strong understanding of Check Point firewall architecture, software, licensing and network connectivity.
- Proven ability to assess complex security environments and recommend practical technical solutions.
- Experience documenting security infrastructure and supporting knowledge transfer activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.

Desirable

- Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification or equivalent.
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex enterprise firewall environments.
- Knowledge of security governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Experience contributing to security infrastructure improvements and service transition initiatives.
- Availability to participate in rostered on-call support arrangements.
