About Our Client

Our client is an established, family-owned civil construction company specialising in demolition, excavation, bulk earthworks and complex civil infrastructure projects across Sydney.

With a team of approximately 230 employees and projects ranging from $1 million to $50 million, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering challenging construction projects.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, our client is seeking two experienced Project Engineers to join its Sydney-based operations.

About the Role

We are seeking two capable Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of civil construction projects across Sydney.

There are two opportunities available:

Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure / Sydney Water

Working on civil infrastructure projects, particularly Sydney Water-related works, including project planning, coordination, technical delivery and contractor management.

Project Engineer – Basement Excavation / Bulk Earthworks

Working on complex basement and excavation projects involving piling, shotcreting, bulk earthworks and associated civil construction activities.

Both positions offer the opportunity to take ownership of project delivery activities,



work closely with experienced Project Managers and contribute to projects from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Project Managers in the planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction projects.

- Manage day-to-day engineering activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and project stakeholders.

- Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

- Monitor project progress, construction schedules, costs and quality requirements.

- Prepare project documentation, progress reports, RFIs and engineering records.

- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards and contractual requirements.

- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges throughout project delivery.

- Support procurement, material coordination and subcontractor management.

About You To be successful, you will ideally possess:

- A degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within civil construction.

- Alternatively, approximately 4 years of Site Engineer experience with demonstrated readiness to progress into a Project Engineer position.





- Experience working with Tier 2 or Tier 3 civil construction contractors.

- Proven exposure to civil infrastructure, Sydney Water projects, basement construction, piling, shotcreting or bulk earthworks.

- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project programming and engineering documentation.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively with site teams and subcontractors.

- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with Procore and Microsoft Excel will be advantageous.

Candidates with experience in either Sydney Water infrastructure projects or basement excavation works are encouraged to apply.
