Liverpool Catholic Club is preparing to launch Akari, an exciting new Asian Fusion dining experience opening in late 2026, and we're looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a brand-new restaurant concept from the beginning, working alongside a talented leadership team to help shape the menu, culture and guest experience.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will assist in the daily operation of the kitchen while helping deliver a high-quality dining experience for our members and guests.

Key responsibilities include

- Supporting the Executive Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Leading and motivating the team during service
- Maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards
- Assisting with menu development and daily specials
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met
- Managing stock levels and reducing wastage
- Training and mentoring junior chefs
- Creating a positive, organised and professional kitchen culture
- Staying up to date with industry trends and techniques

This is a hands-on role that includes weekend and evening work. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Previous experience as a Sous Chef
- Experience in Asian,



Asian Fusion or modern cuisine highly regarded
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to perform under pressure in a busy service environment
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional food experiences
- Relevant hospitality qualifications
