About the Great Stupa The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is one of Bendigo's most unique visitor attractions, welcoming visitors from across Australia and around the world.

We are looking for an organised, practical and enthusiastic person to join our team in a varied role combining retail coordination with event support.

About the role

This full-time position offers the opportunity to work across two areas of the Great Stupa's operations, with approximately three days per week dedicated to coordinating our retail activities and two days supporting our events program.

You will help keep our gift shop and online store running smoothly while assisting with the preparation and delivery of events held at the Great Stupa.

The role involves working closely with our Cultural Engagement and Marketing & Events teams, along with staff, volunteers and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

Retail Coordination – 3 days per week

- Coordinate stock management, ordering, inventory and supplier communications.

- Maintain retail systems, stock records and product information.

- Manage online shop listings, orders and dispatch arrangements.

- Coordinate merchandising, product displays and pricing updates.

- Review and improve retail procedures and day-to-day processes.

- Prepare routine sales and stock reports.

- Support staff and volunteers with retail procedures and provide customer service assistance when required.

Events Assistance – 2 days per week

- Assist with event planning, administration and preparation.

- Coordinate event schedules, checklists, bookings and materials.

- Liaise with suppliers, performers, staff and volunteers.





- Assist with event logistics, equipment, signage, set-up and pack-down.

- Maintain event records and assist with follow-up tasks.

- Provide practical support during events as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative and can confidently manage day-to-day responsibilities.

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience in retail coordination, stock management, event administration or a similar role.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

- Good communication and customer service skills.

- Confidence using point-of-sale, inventory and general computer systems.

- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

- A practical, flexible approach and willingness to assist where needed.

Experience with Square, online retail systems, merchandising or event coordination would be an advantage.

Hours and location

This is a full-time, on-site position based at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Myers Flat, Bendigo.

The preferred working days are Tuesday to Saturday, with some flexibility required around major events.
