Sales Consultant – Solar & Battery | Uncapped Commission

About the role

SLM Solar is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Consultant – Solar & Battery to join our growing team in Sydney. This is a contract position offering an exciting opportunity to drive sales growth in the renewable energy sector, with earnings based on a commission-only structure.

Based in Sydney NSW 2000, you'll be at the forefront of our sales operations, building relationships with customers and promoting our solar solutions to residential and commercial clients. This role is pivotal in achieving our sales targets and expanding our market presence in the competitive solar and battery energy industry.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and prospect potential customers through cold calling, networking, and lead generation activities

- Present and demonstrate solar products and services to prospective clients, highlighting key benefits and return on investment

- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs

- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets

- Build and maintain solid relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities

- Conduct site visits and assessments to understand customer requirements and provide customised solutions

- Collaborate with the technical and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery

- Maintain accurate sales records, customer information, and pipeline data in the CRM system

- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to generate leads and build brand awareness

What we're looking for





- Proven track record in sales, ideally within the renewable energy, solar, construction, or related industries

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customer groups

- Self-motivated and target-driven with a competitive spirit and desire to exceed sales goals

- Excellent negotiation and closing skills with the ability to overcome objections

- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Sydney region for client meetings and site visits

- Knowledge of solar energy systems, renewable energy incentives, and government schemes (such as Small-scale Technology Certificates) is highly advantageous

- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

- Professional presentation and strong attention to detail
