Senior Diesel Mechanic – Fleet Maintenance.

Competitive hourly rate + penalty rates + overtime An established Australian business is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its fleet maintenance team in a hands-on 2IC role.

Working alongside the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll help maintain a diverse fleet while supporting workshop coordination, prioritising maintenance tasks and providing technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

About the Role

- Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Work across trucks, fleet vehicles, forklifts, generators and other equipment.
- Assist with workshop coordination, job allocation and maintenance priorities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
- Maintain accurate service records and uphold safety and compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and fleet reliability.

About You

- Experience in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, heavy plant or a similar environment.




- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with basic electrical diagnostic capability.
- Valuable organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to support others and prioritise competing maintenance requirements.

A relevant mechanical trade qualification is highly regarded. Previous supervisory or Leading Hand experience is advantageous but not essential — experienced senior mechanics ready to step into a 2IC position are encouraged to apply. What's on Offer?
