Role Description The Senior Negotiation Advisor is a full time, hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. This role is responsible for leading negotiations with the ATO on behalf of clients, including developing strategies to manage, restructure, or reduce taxation debt. Day-to-day activities include reviewing client financial information, assessing risk and viability, preparing negotiation plans and proposals, and communicating directly with both clients and ATO representatives.

The role also involves mentoring junior team members, contributing to internal process improvements, and supporting business development initiatives where specialist negotiation expertise is required.

Qualifications

- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience handling complex financial or regulatory discussions.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to interpret financial statements, assess debt structures, and evaluate risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax and debt concepts in explicit, accessible language.
- Sound knowledge of taxation principles, debt management practices, and relevant Australian regulatory frameworks (experience with the ATO is highly regarded).
- Demonstrated client advisory experience, including building trusted relationships and delivering tailored, outcome-focused solutions.
- High level of professional integrity, discretion, and attention to detail when dealing with sensitive client information.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, business, or a related field; registration as a tax agent or equivalent professional accreditation is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively in-office in Sydney, NSW and independently from home.
